The Ghana Police Service has announced that some individuals who are suspected of participating in a shooting during the Assin North by-election have been swiftly apprehended.
Observers from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) fired shots at Assin Praso to scare away voters, but the NPP denies this.
Yet, scarcely two hours after the episode happened, the police in an explanation uncovered that it has gotten a few suspects that are aiding examinations.
As a result, the police are requesting order and tranquility.

However, a few incidents were recorded by the police, including an alleged incident in which a person fired into the air. We want to make it clear that nobody has been shot at or shot at a vehicle in the constituency. All of the incidents that were recorded are the subject of an investigation, and the police have also detained some suspects who are currently assisting our investigation.
In order to maintain law and order throughout the remainder of the election and beyond, sufficient police officers have been stationed throughout the constituency.
